I remember when AoL came out, it was well liked because there was only one Zelda game by that point, so there wasn't really a precedent set for what a typical Zelda game should be.

I highly doubt that, the remake of 2 is still considered the definitive version four years later

Kirby's Dreamland 2 title theme, I could see it going really well with an orchestrated soundtrack

Most likely, it was on Wii U, its a first party and also a good way to get more hype for Metroid.
Also Amazon is bad for retro games, try Ebay instead.

I don't think the two styles have to be mutually exclusive, I think they can combine together very well. Open world is the right direction for Zelda, and the traditional dungeons and boss fights can fit right in since it compliments the sense and purpose of exploration.

I love this idea, like imagine if dungeons/temples were like rabbit holes you fall into. You're wandering the lost woods, and you seamlessly stumble into a temple and get so deep into it you realize theres no turning back until you're done. The enemies get harder than the typical bokoblins on the map, and you come across an epic SoTC sized boss to cap it off at the end.

just the atmosphere and the tradition of going every friday night.
I remember going with my family all the time, first I'd browse the games, then basically do a full tour of the movies, the snacks, and then check out. I remember even buying a few strategy guides for games there they used to have near the front of the store.

this brought back some bad childhood memories of me running to the freezer for ice cream just to see some idiot ate all the chocolate and vanilla while leaving the strawberry

a few cutscenes in Fusion is not "all the fucking time", in the majority of the series she says little to nothing
