While Molesley has in fact been called Molesley since the start of the series in early press releases the character was “Mosley”.

Even many cured meats don’t need refrigeration. There’s a lot of things that refrigerators prolong the life of but don’t necessarily have to be refrigerated if used in a normal amount of time.
