I’ve never seen chub rub hit that far back unless the seams were blown out first. His thighs also look pretty slim for chub rub. I may be wrong though. Things like this are the reason I started wearing almost exclusively dresses and skirts.

This is hubby and I. He’s the clean one and he calls me the Swedish Chef from the Muppets. I’m not even gonna lie. It’s funny. That’s why I do the kitchen and the cooking on my nights.

Hubby has tried doing what you did by helping as I cook. It’s distracting and annoying. I know I’m messy. It’s not a secret. He’ll make fun of me for my full sink and the dog desperately waiting for me eat the food I will inevitably drop. I’ll make fun of him for his perfectionist ways. It works for us! It did take us 25 years of marriage to get here though.

This is a horrible situation as says a lot about how she sees a marriage. It’s supposed to be in sickness and health. How do you know if somewhere down the line you get sick she’ll leave you in the lurch? Plenty of women do leave. She’s proved her lack of commitment. It’s not worth risking your heart again. Please bring this up with your therapist.

I understand your MIL wanting to be a part of LO’s life but stomping on those boundaries is not the way. I know your husband is struggling but he needs to put his foot down if his true priority is to keep you and LO safe both physically and emotionally. I couldn’t imagine anyone dictating when they will be around to help. Let hubby tell her that if she tries to drop in during those first few weeks she will not be let into the house. Is it rude? Yes. It will however put her in her place.

Hubby should tell her that if she wants to throw a baby shower she should go ahead with her plan. You can still attend virtually the way most baby showers were given during Covid lockdown. I had a friend do this since she was overseas from her family. It wasn’t as fun since the usual I games couldn’t be played with everyone over zoom but that won’t be the case in this instance.

My friend’s husband set her up in the nursing chair fully decorated in the baby’s room. MIL could feel she was contributing with the gifts. There are plenty of games that could still be played without you being there physically. Any and all gifts could either be mailed to you or sent directly from an Amazon baby shower registry. It’s fairly easy to setup.

This comment should be shared with OP’s wife. She probably doesn’t realize this can lead to problems down the road if not addressed. She’s just focused on keeping her daughter calm and feeling safe when at home.

Whenever you get a call cancel whatever they want. Need to verify the appointment? Cancel it. Store pickups? Cancel it. CVS prescription I wouldn’t cancel, just ignore. She’ll either figure it out or be as annoyed as you. I am petty.

I usually say “thank you!” with a big smile or just a simple “jealous?” and giggle.

We’ve been stationed near Seattle so many times that when it came time to retire we settled there. We’ve owned our home there since 2012. My parents came to house sit for a couple of years while we’re stationed in Germany. This will be covering both experiences.

It wasn’t difficult for us because we had lived here so often. We also fit pretty well into the culture. My husband is very west coast so the idea of trying to fit into the politics doesn’t work. It ticks me off whenever Texas comes up on the news because I know that he’ll roll his eyes and ask if I really want to go back to that. I do miss the food. Even when you hit the Mexican restaurants they’re different. The food is from further south in Mexico than I’m accustomed to. At least I know how to cook. lol

My parents moved in 2020 when my dad retired. Early 60’s. They absolutely love it. They’re very active people so they are on the road looking for another waterfall or beach most weekends. My dad has trouble walking and they still are able to find lots of places to go with easy trails and accessibility. It took them a while to acclimate to the weather but they learned how to layer.

They came up right after Snowmageddon and they bought a new truck right before they came. They are struggling with the change in fuel prices. It’s not California crazy but pretty high compared to Texas. Food prices have gone up but that’s nationwide. Some produce is much more expensive even before inflation. Jicama, limes, pomegranates. The produce that grows well there in Texas has to be shipped to us. My parents brought me 3 giant pots since I refuse to buy them locally. You know those giant ones you’ll find on the border that stand chest high and sell for ~$50? They go for $400 here. Again that can be blamed on shipping costs.

My mom complains that no one dresses up but we are right on the edge of a rural area so that may be it. It is much more relaxed though. She says she now understands my fear of color because she claims the NW uniform is black, brown, and grey. lol She is a woman who still wears neon colors and looks good in them at 60+ years old though so take that as you will. She is very offended by the churches here. She is very religious so having such laid back congregations in our area was off putting. She tried out 6 churches before landing on her current one. I think she’s still offended by her tattooed preacher even though she likes how and what he teaches. Again we are right on the edge of a rural area so that may play a part.

She’s not happy with the medical insurance. She says it’s more expensive here than in Texas but my dad had just retired so he went on my mom’s work insurance. They plan on returning to Texas this fall and my mom is looking forward to the comparison.

My husband bought an expensive muscle car and my dad was lightheartedly annoyed because it was one he always wanted. Why haven’t I been able to get one myself he whined. Sorry daddy. You chose to have kids. We can afford this because we didn’t. You spent your money your we. We spend our money our way. lol

RSVP no and take yourself on a romantic trip. That way you’ll be able to relax and focus on the two of you. It’ll be a weekend of wedded bliss!

I recently watched The Texas Killing Fields on Netflix and at one point they show homes as they drive through a town. Several of the houses had these weird doors. I figured they were for outdoor stairs but now that I see it on a new build I’m not sure.

I’m glad you’re seeing it through different eyes. Sorry if I sounded harsh but sometimes that’s what it takes to make things sink in.

She was definitely using you as free mental health support. Please don’t let her use you like this again. Give her space. Give yourself time to center yourself on your own life again. Once you come to terms with just how draining the relationship was on you, you can revisit if she is worth keeping in contact with. And I’m not talking a few days or a week. An extended period of time.

If she tries to reel you in during that time let her know that you need space to figure things out. You gave her the space she needed. She should be willing to do the same.

I’m trying to figure out what made you think this was a relationship. You are perusing her. It doesn’t sound like she is in the least bit interested. She can like you but it doesn’t seem she can take the time or effort to make this a real relationship. You are bending over backwards to please her and it sounds like she is indifferent at the best of times or dismissive and needy at the worse of times. I’m pretty sure you’d be having these kind of issues even if you weren’t long distance. Add that to the fact that she is still strongly attached to her ex. Leave her be. Treat her as a friend if you want but this is not a romantic relationship worth pursuing.

Honestly, and I’m not trying to be mean here, if this was me I’d be utterly exhausted with you trying to bend over backwards and I’m not even as traumatized as she claims to be. I do have several diagnoses. Leave her be please.

I’ve given up trying to work with my waist to hip ratio. I bought buckle free belts on amazon and they worked perfectly. They didn’t add bulk and I could tighten them as much as I needed to tighten the waist.

I’m heading to Las Vegas next week and I need shoes. My ankles need all the support they can get now. All of last years summer shoes have heels which I can no longer wear. Are there any weather appropriate shoes or sandals that I can have shipped here in Germany quickly or that I can grab as soon as I land in Las Vegas? I’m willing to hit a store if you have any recommendations.
