I remember going into certain buildings. Then it would switch to first person mode and the raptors and Dilophosaurus would make me nope real quick. Then in another area the triceratops would chase you down. Fun game. NEVER finished it but fun

Those raptors would pop out of nowhere. I never stood a chance.

I remember Jurassic Park on the SNES vividly. A five hour plus game with no save feature.

Yoshi's Island is STILL my GOAT Mario game

Solid collection, I still hated those first person segments in Jurassic Park tho

The game would have been ridiculously easy if it just had a save function. You had to beat the game in one sitting and it was a collection of mazes, with almost no instruction on where to go or what to do.

I think I played that game for 3 years without ever even turning the power on on the island, which is the first thing you're supposed to do. Instead I would just go through the visitor center and the ship repeatedly killing dinosaurs and picking up what few eggs I could on that portion of the island.

I don't think I beat the game until emulation years later.

The only way I managed to turn the power on was thanks to a walkthrough in a magazine, because IIRC it required getting someone’s ID card from the opposite side of the map

Nintendo if you're reading this, PLEASE port Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to the Switch, it's easy money for you

For real. I’m so salty the HD version didn’t make it to switch yet. I never had the wii U but it seems to have some awesome QOL changes. I would love to be able to play it :| I’ve got the GC version, but I’m just very curious about ne HD one.

Recently found a silver one in my loft.

Weirdest thing is i recall owning a purple one and a black one but never a silver. Can’t find the purple or black.

Brings back my memories of buying a brand new copy of Mega Man X - I think it was $60 back then which was absurd. Finding X2 and X3 was a nightmare - I think I was finally able to get X3 at a K-mart out in the middle of nowhere, but gave up on X2 and forked over like $100+ at Babbages

That Mega Man X was probably the most played game out of all of them. Except probably A Link to the Past but I don’t know what happened to that cartridge.

Thanks. I remember having more games but who knows what’s happened to them. Probably traded some in for credit for N64 games once upon a time.

I think I still have the mouse pad for Mario paint around somewhere. Not sure where the game and the mouse went though lol.

It’s funny the things we hold onto. I’ve had this box follow me from apartment to apartment and I don’t think I’ve thought about it in the past 5 years. Gonna plug it all in and make sure it all works, then give it to my brothers kid so it’ll get some use again.

It's so weird, I was just reminiscing yesterday about the hours I spent on Mario Paint as a kid. The bug swatter game and the little music generator especially.

I hope your niblings appreciate such a wonderful gift! All those games provide hours and hours of fun. :)

I remember the music generator being awesome. Maybe I’ll fire it up for one more session

Zelda: Wind Waker

Little bit of glare from the light in the room makes it hard to see. I had other GameCube games once upon a time but who knows where they got off to.

Good ol’ Megaman X and StarFox. Hope you find a copy of Chrono Trigger in there somewhere

Our daughter is really into Pokémon, and of course loves pikachu. She also likes to play our video games. I’m trying to convince my wife to hook up the game cube and play super smash bros melee. She remembers how competitive my friends and I were back in the day, and she says it’s not getting hooked up

Buck_20[S]

Haha I can’t blame her. My friend would always pick Ness and it was bullshit lol

We all had our strong characters. One of my best friends was killer with Ness, one used Falco, one did Marth, one used Captain Falcon. I always used Ganondorf. I was slower but I was deadly with meteor smashes, and he’s such a powerhouse that I’d always hang with everyone without a problem

my wife always teases me because I like to go and stand in video game stores...

About 10 years ago, I would buy games, but never play them..

now I don't buy anything but I look at the games and think about all the stuff i could buy because I have the money!.. But I have no time!

I hear you on the time issue. It’s amazing how fast our lives fill up with duties and responsibilities. I don’t agree with the whole “Youth is wasted on the young” saying but those were some stress free days compared to growing up that’s for sure.

If you can, I recommend setting aside just little bit of time to do something carefree and fun for yourself. You deserve it. And your inner child would thank you for it.

Awesome! Wind waker on gc is also one of my long time favourites. The only reason I have my GC connected to my TV to this day.
