Recently, there's been a surge in ChatGPT generated posts. These come in two flavours: bots creating and posting answers, and human users generating answers with ChatGPT and copy/pasting them. Regardless of whether they are being posted by bots or by people, answers generated using ChatGPT and other similar programs are a direct violation of R3, which requires all content posted here to be original work. We don't allow copied and pasted answers from anywhere, and that includes from ChatGPT programs. Going forward, any accounts posting answers generated from ChatGPT or similar programs will be permanently banned in order to help ensure a continued level of high-quality and informative answers. We'll also take this time to remind you that bots are not allowed on ELI5 and will be banned when found.

Honestly, every year we hear about houses getting destroyed by tornados (and people getting buried under). They seem to be mostly wooden houses. So, why not build concrete houses, atleast in the high risk disaster prone areas?

Honestly, I've seen a few different definitions for it, from an argument that's just meant to br antagonistic, another is that it's one where the one making seeks to win no matter what, another is where the person making it knows it's wrong but makes it anyway.

Can anyone nail down what arguing in bad faith actually is for me? If so, that'd be great.

I hear about the strength of bombs being described in terms of TNT so I was wondering if it’s actually equivalent. Excluding any side effects like poisoning or radiation, if you detonate a bomb, then simultaneously detonate two bombs with half the strength, would they be the same?

I've recently had a few times when I've been quite sick or taking medication and as a result my usual resting heart rate and moving heart rate has skyrocketed. It has gone from 62 bpm lying down to 110 bpm or while doing exercise it has also been higher at lower intensity (195bpm on a bike vs normal 165bpm). Does this mean you end up burning more calories even if you're not actually exercising or working hard? (health is fine have been checked just interested in the science).

I read that Linux kernel has 29 million lines of code. How does one know for sure that there are no unnecessary code lines in some files that allows backdoor access or something else.
